COMEBACK KIDS STRIKE AGAIN
Team rookie Drew Torres and long time
Cyclone Priamo Reyes lead team to victory
May 31, 2026 - After taking a 5-0 lead
after the first inning, the Cyclones coughed up their lead
to the Northside Rangers in the 3rd inning, allowing the
Rangers to score 9 runs to take a 10-5 lead over the
Cyclones after 3 innings. In the 4th inning, the Cyclones
mounted a rally to plate 4 runs by the bottom of the order,
capped by Priamo Reyes 2 run single to draw the Cyclones
within a run. Mgr. Dean Cosme came on in relief of starter
Justin Putnal and settled things down and only allowed 1 run
over 5+ innings to keep a leash on the Rangers.
Now, with an 11-9 deficit, the Cyclones had
gone down quietly for 3 straight innings before coming to
bat in the 8th and final inning. The inning began with
Drew Torres initially being hit by a pitch that was
wrongfully called a swing by the home plate ump.
Torres exalted revenge in a way as he struck out but reach
base when the pitch skipped past the catcher and he wasn't
able to secure the out. Jorge Castillo followed by reaching
on an error by the Rangers to put runners on first and
second with none out. Priamo Reyes singled to drive in
Torres and then Castillo and Reyes moved up a base each on a
wild pitch. Birthday Boy Eddie Baray walked to load the
bases. Two consecutive Sac Flies by Camilo Galvez and
Craig Baser respectively gave the Cyclones the 12-11 lead
that saw Cosme close out the game and secure the victory.
