CYCLONES ADVANCE
Cyclones topple the Expos in an ugly
game to make it to the Semi-Final Round of the playoffs
Dec 15, 2025 - To say that this game
was ugly is being nice. It was fugly, maybe even bufugly.
But either way you choose to describe it, the Cyclones came
out the winners and move on to face the Marauders in the
Semi-Finals of the Fall 2025 playoffs. It was a cold, cloudy
day in Houston, much colder than the thermometer read. The
final score may say 11-7 Cyclones, but it could have been
better and it could have been worse. It could have been
better had starting pitcher and manager Dean Cosme left
himself earlier than he did in the 4th inning. It could have
been worse, if Cosme had stayed in and tried to overcome the
self-inflicted trouble he was in. In the end though, Cosme
came out and Juan Zuniga entered to put out the fire.
Cosme had thrown 3 1/3 innings of baseball
but should have only thrown 3. Cosme wasn't himself on
Sunday as he uncharacteristically walked 7 batters and
accounted for all 11 runs that scored. Luckily for the
Cyclones, Zuniga stepped in and saved the game for the
Cyclones, hurling 2 2/3 innings without allowing a run which
in turn allowed the Cyclones to break the tie and extend
their lead.
